| I was hoping to make an entry each day, but that didn't work out. Anyway, here's number 3. Phish/ Farmhouse. I love Phish. They are/ were an incrediable jamband. I hope you have an opportunity to give this album a listen. | | |
| Is everyone ready for #4? I'm suprised i didn't have more response from my first entry into my top 5. Some couldn't believe that i picked that album for number 5, but most, prolly over 1000 or so, thought that that should be in my top 5.
NUMMMMMMBBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRR 4 (echo, echo, echo.....it would kinda sound like four......four..........................four)
The Flaming Lips/ Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots
This album always seems to stay fresh, kinda like a gallon of vitamin D milk in your fridge that never expires. It's great. every time I listen to it, I enjoy it. It's upbeat and happy, but not in a canned, this should make it onto the radio, kinda way. Incredibly creative, but somehow manages to stay listenable........I hate artsy, creative music that's not listenable........AKA, Wilco. anyway......enjoy.
| I have been told by many, some in passing as small talk, and some with a more serious demeanor, that my blogging is not up to par. I don't play golf, but I think that means i'm not making as many entries as some would like. I've always been a firm believer of 'quality' over 'quantity' , so i've been taking all these blogless days to think of an exciting way to re-approach the whole idea of blogging.
Here's what i've decided: I'm changing the format of my blog. I'm turning my site into a music review/ critique site. I'm not sure yet if i'll follow a specific format, but what i can say is this, I will give you, on this my first music entry, my top five must own albums. Keep in mind that i haven't thought about this for an extended time, so my top five must have albums might change. I know that this will be much debated and heated because people have there personal fav's and i'm not arguing that. I'm just saying, a bottom line sorta thought, THESE ALBUMS WON'T change your life, but they might turn you on to some music you would have never heard of if it weren't for me. By the way, I changed my mind, i'm only going to give you one entry a day....starting at #5 and counting down to #1 with each consecutive day.
Here Goes: #5 Soundgarden/ Badmotorfinger. This album is SOOO heavy, not in your i'm gonna turn my guitar amp's gain up to 10 (maybe 11) and scream on each track, but the songs build, the choruses are very heavy and the guitar tones are sooo raw and underproduced. There is a buttload of unchained energy in the way Chris Cornell sings. One of my good friends put it this way, when you listen to Soundgarden, you feel like you've had a piano dropped on you. MAN, that's HEAVY.
| Must-have music list coming.....be patient people!!!! | | |
| well....another day.............another entry...........there's no shortage of things for me not to write about..............so i'll fill the screen with 'artistic nothingness'...........enjoy it............people pay good money for blank computer screen real estate....especially when it's pseudo-artistic.
the end of all things is near.
